Diabetic Eye Disease
People with diabetes may develop a several of eye disorders including damage to retinal blood vessels (retinopathy), vitreous haemorrhage, retinal detachment, retinal vascular occlusion, glaucoma and cataract. Vision changes include double vision, blurry or distorted vision and floaters.

Macular Degeneration
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the deterioration of the macula. The macula is the central small area of the retina responsible for central vision, for example, focusing and viewing details during activities such as reading and driving. AMD is the leading cause of blindness in North America in adults over the age of 60.

Non-Eye Medication and Systemic Disease
Your doctor told you that you needed an eye exam because of the following conditions:
Hypertension
Diabetes
Toxoplasmosis
CMV retinitis
HIV/AIDS
Pregnancy
Drug induced eye diseases which may blind your vision: Cataracts, Glaucoma, Uveitis, Dry eye, Macular disease, Optic neuropathies, Stroke (ischemic disease), Ocular bleeding.
Assessment include:
Full eye examination.
Image monitoring.
Co-management with general physician.
Eye Emergencies
We assess and treat patients who have newly developed the following symptoms. We will make a referral to specialists if needed.
Red eye / discharge.
Sudden loss of vision.
Flashing lights (photopsia) / floaters (newly occurred).
Foreign body (conjunctival and corneal foreign body removal).
Double vision (diplopia).
Acute pain in or around the eye.
Onset of unequal pupils (anisocoria).
